Duties: Responsible for the setup, maintenance, and basic custodial tasks of the Civic Center and related facilities. Supports the successful execution of a variety of events by preparing venues, maintaining cleanliness and safety, and ensuring compliance with facility protocols. Secures Civic Center buildings and Fairgrounds. Sets up and arranges chairs, tables, and equipment for events including banquets, receptions, meetings, trade shows, and more. Installs stages, sound and lighting systems, bleachers, risers, walls, video screens, spotlights, banners, and backdrops as required. Reads and interprets floor plans and diagrams to ensure accurate event setup. Opens and closes buildings for scheduled events. Monitors and responds to fire, security, and other alarm systems. Ensures compliance with fire and life safety codes during all events. Operates and adjusts HVAC systems based on event needs. Provides information to patrons regarding event schedules and registration. Monitors event attendees to maintain a safe and orderly environment. Performs custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing floors. Cleans restrooms, bleachers, kitchens, and general facility areas; empties trash and uses appropriate cleaning products. Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements. Work the assigned schedule and comply with City timekeeping and attendance policy. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications: Some relevant experience in convention or event setup. Valid Texas driver's license and good driving record. Must obtain forklift certification within 90 days of employment. PREFERRED: High School Diploma or GED.
