Duties: Responsible for general building cleaning and maintenance, animal feeding, animal health, animal adoption and foster/rescue operations. Instructs, trains, and assists staff with their duties, use of equipment and materials in assigned areas. Assists staff with initial customer questions and/or issues in a timely manner. Assists as directed by the Manager of Animal Rescue and Assistance with interviewing and selection of job applicants. Reviews departmental practices and procedures to ensure efficient and economical use of resources. Recommends personnel changes. Manages work plans and assigns priorities for employees. Oversees operation and maintenance of departmental facilities. Ensures personnel compliance with the State requirements for proper certifications and licensing. Updates Manager of Animal Rescue and Assistance on areas of interest and/or concern. Works the assigned schedule and complies with City timekeeping and attendance policy. Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Minimum of three to five years of Animal Shelter experience with demonstrated skill progression in management. Experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining strategies for customer service. Proficient in all Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and Internet. Valid Texas Driver's License and a good driving record. State of Texas basic certified Animal Control Officer or obtain within one year of employment. State of Texas euthanasia certification or obtain within one year of employment.
